We’ve updated the Operator App to allow greater flexibility in choosing who receives trip notifications, including booking contacts and passengers. This ensures that the right people receive trip reminders and status updates according to your preferences.
Notification General Settings
You can configure these 2 types of notifications in the Operator App > Settings > General > Communication.
For trip reminders, you can choose who the default recipients will be for all trips: Passengers, Booking Contacts, or both.
For trip status updates, you can set up what will trigger the notifications (if members, drivers, or both) and who'll receive them by default.
If no triggers are selected no status update notifications will be sent, even if recipients are selected.
Overriding Notification Recipients
You can override notification recipients when creating, editing, or updating a reservation or a reservation request. You can do that looking for the "Notify" menu item and clicking on it. A pop-up will then show, mimicking the general settings for notification recipients.
Note: You cannot override status update triggers per trip. If no triggers are set in general settings, no notifications will be sent.
Subscribing to Trip Update Notifications from Customer Portal
If trip status updates have at least one trigger enabled in the Operator App's general settings, the Booking Contact can enable or disable trip status updates for specific trips via the Customer Portal. This can be done by clicking on the bell displayed in the last step of a reservation or within the confirmation pages.
Passenger on board
To enable a POB notification for the Booking Contact, you only need to enable the checkbox for POB notifications within the Trip Status Updates section.
