1. Enable Gratuity Selection for Customers

The first and most crucial step is to activate the gratuity feature.

  • Toggle "Enable gratuity selection for customers" to ON.

Once enabled, your customers will be presented with options to add a tip to their transaction on your booking portal

2. Set Pre-Defined Gratuity Percentages

To make tipping convenient, you can offer pre-calculated percentage options. These percentages are typically applied to the base rate of the service.

  • Select your desired percentage options. In the example, "15%", "18%", and "20%" are presented as choices. You can click on these boxes change the percentages

3. Offer a Cash Gratuity Option

Some customers prefer to tip in cash. Providing this flexibility can enhance the customer experience.

  • Toggle "Offer cash gratuity option" to ON. (The screenshot shows this option is "on," indicating "cash gratuity option on.")

When this is enabled, customers will likely see an option to indicate they will be leaving a cash tip, which can help with internal tracking or service provider communication.

4. Offer a Custom Gratuity Option

For customers who wish to tip an amount not covered by your pre-set percentages, a custom option is essential.

  • Toggle "Offer custom gratuity option" to ON. (This is "on" in the screenshot, showing "Custom gratuity option on.")

Once enabled, you have further control over the custom amount:

  • Set a Minimum for Custom Gratuity:

    • "Min 15%": If you select this, customers choosing a custom gratuity will be prompted to enter an amount that is at least 15% of the base rate.

    • "No minimum": Choosing this allows customers to enter any custom amount they wish, without a lower limit.

5. Make Gratuity Selection Optional

Finally, decide whether tipping should be a mandatory step or if customers can skip it.

  • Toggle "Make gratuity selection optional" to ON.

This ensures that customers are not forced to leave a tip if they choose not to.

By following these steps, you can effectively set up a flexible and user-friendly gratuity system, benefiting both your customers and your service providers.

Remember, the percentages for gratuity are calculated from the base rate of the service provided.
