Overview
Moovs allows flexible pricing management using Vehicle Categories. Whether you want generic pricing for all customers or special rates for specific clients, categories make it easy to automate and control rates.
This guide explains how to set up pricing for both non-targeted customers and targeted customers.
Setting Your Pricing
On the Pricing tab you can define:
Transfers: base rate, deadhead rate per mile, per-mile or flat rate
Hourly: minimum and hourly rates (weekdays vs. weekends)
Tiered Pricing: toggle ON for tiered structures
Weekend Selection: choose which days count as weekends
Always enable Base Rate Automation for automatic calculations.
- Pricing for Non-Targeted Customers
If no targeted customers are selected, the pricing applies to all customers on the Customer Portal.
The category will be visible to everyone, and the set rates will apply universally.
Use Case: Best for generic fleet categories like “Standard Sedans” where one pricing structure fits all.
🛈 Use Case |
- Targeted Pricing for Specific Customers
Under Target Specific Companies or Contacts, choose the businesses or individual customers who should see custom rates.
When those customers log into the portal, they automatically see the exclusive rates assigned to them.
Operators creating bookings for those customers will also have the category’s targeted pricing automatically override the vehicle’s base pricing.
🛈 Use Case |
Booking Experience for Operators
Operators won't see the vehicle category name when creating a reservation, but if the selected customer or company is covered by Targeted Pricing, the custom pricing in that category applies automatically.
This ensures the correct pricing without additional steps, overriding the pricing set at the vehicle level.
Booking Experience for Customers
Targeted Customers: Access targeted pricing after logging into the portal. They must be included in the Targeted Customer Pricing section for a vehicle category to see custom rates.
Non-Targeted Customers: View general category pricing available to all users.
In this example, I've created a vehicle category with myself as the Targeted Customer.
In this example, I've created a vehicle category with specific pricing, but I haven't selected any targeted customers. As a result, this category will be visible to all of your customers on the booking portal, regardless of whether they are logged in. The pricing you've set for the category will automatically apply to anyone who books a vehicle from it.
🛈 Use Case It simplifies managing similar vehicle fleets for swift dispatch and price changes without altering each vehicle's price individually. If no particular company or contact is chosen, this category and its pricing will be available to all your customers on your Customer Portal. |
