Vehicle Categorization in Moovs is a powerful tool for optimizing fleet management. By grouping vehicles into categories, operators can simplify dispatching, streamline customer portal interactions, and manage their fleets more efficiently.
This guide covers the General Use of Vehicle Categories—from creating and customizing categories to managing customer portal settings and assigning vehicles.
Creating a Vehicle Category
Navigate to Vehicles → Categories tab.
Click Create Category.
Provide:
Name (e.g., "Premium SUVs" or "Economy Sedans")
Capacity & details (add photos for easy identification)
Adding Policies
Apply Cancellation and Insurance Policies from your account settings.
Select the desired policy from the dropdown menus.
Defining Vehicle Features
On the Features tab, check the boxes for the amenities and policies relevant to the category. Examples include:
General: luggage space, refrigerator, wheelchair accessibility
Multimedia: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, game console
Policies: pet-friendly, smoking allowed
This ensures customers and operators have full visibility into the vehicle’s amenities.
Configuring Customer Portal Settings
Control how the category appears to customers:
Display Category on Customer Portal: toggle ON to make it visible for booking.
Enable Base Rate Automation on Customer Portal: allows customers to see pricing directly without requesting a quote.
Availability Options:
Block quote requests when vehicles are unavailable
Block reservations when vehicles are unavailable
Adding Vehicles to a Category
Open the Vehicles tab.
Click Add Vehicle.
Select vehicles from the list and confirm.
Finalizing and Saving
Click Save to activate the new category. Vehicles and settings are now organized for quick use in dispatching and bookings.
