Overview

With Linked Passengers, Moovs now allows frequent passengers to be linked to a customer profile (either by the operator or the customer themselves) to simplify the booking process. This feature also enables users to link cards to the passenger they should be used with, and for passengers to view trips that they didn’t book themselves.

Managing Linked Passengers (Customer Portal)

Customers can select or create a linked passenger when booking a trip or submitting a new quote request. Keep in mind that if the contact selects Temporary Passenger the passenger won’t be linked to their account.

If the customer has exactly one passenger linked to them, that passenger will become the default passenger in their new quotes and reservations, and the customer will be able to replace them if needed. In any other case (if the customer doesn’t have linked passengers or if they have more than one) they’ll continue being the default passenger unless they replace it.

To manage Linked Passengers from the Customer portal, the user can also click on their name on the top right corner and go to Passengers. There, they’ll find a list of all passengers linked to them with an option to create, edit or delete them.

Lastly, from their Profile page, customers can view all cards in their profile with the passenger that they’re linked to, if any. They can also view the cards that other users have linked to them. In this last scenario, they’ll see a chip that says “Linked to you” and they’ll have an option to unlink themselves from it). Note: Users can only make reservations with the cards that live in their profile, they can’t make payments with cards that other users have linked to them.

Passengers can also see the trips that others have booked for them from the Trips as passengers tab. On click, they'll be redirected to the passenger link with all the trip info.

Managing Linked Passengers (Operator App)

When creating a reservation or a quote, operators can replace the passenger with the booking contact’s linked passenger or any contact in their list. If a reservation is created for Person A as the booking contact and Person B as the passenger, Person B will automatically be added as Person A’s linked passenger. The exception to this is when a Temporary Passenger is added, in which case they won’t be automatically linked to any contact.

When charging for a trip, the operator will be able to see a chip showing which passenger each card is linked to, so they can easily know what card to charge for the reservation.

Operators can also manage Linked Passengers and the cards tied to them from the Contacts area. In each contact, they’ll find who their passengers are (under the Linked Passengers section), who they’re a linked passenger of (under Passenger of), their cards - with a chip on which passenger they should be used for - (under Credit Cards) and the cards that other contacts have linked to them (under Passenger Linked Cards).

What can I use this feature for? Some examples

Executive Assistant:

Efficiently manage your executives' travel by linking them to your account and assigning the correct card for each trip's payment. Share the Customer Portal with them to provide easy access to their itineraries and details. This not only keeps them informed but also reduces back-and-forth communication.

Travel Agent:

Streamline your client management by linking them to your account and therefore granting them access to the Customer Portal. Clients can view their trip details at any time without the ability to make changes, ensuring both transparency and control over bookings.

Event Planner:

Organize event transportation seamlessly by linking the primary passenger contact for each trip and providing them access to the Customer Portal. They can easily view all travel arrangements and itineraries, reducing last-minute confusion and ensuring smooth logistics. You can also link your cards to different passengers to easily differentiate the payment methods that should be used to pay for different customers' trips.
