How It Works
When you trigger Auto Dispatch for a trip, Moovs searches for drivers within a configurable radius of the pickup location.
Drivers receive a push notification on the Driver App, and the first driver to accept gets assigned to the trip.
If no drivers accept within the timeout period—or none are found in the initial radius—Moovs automatically expands the search area. This expansion continues until either a driver accepts or the maximum number of attempts is reached.
When to Use Auto Dispatch
Auto Dispatch works best for:
On-demand trips where you need a driver assigned quickly
Last-minute bookings when you don't have time to call drivers individually
High-volume operations where manual assignment isn't practical
Scheduled trips where you want automatic driver assignment at a specific time before pickup
Key Features
Radius-based search: Moovs finds drivers closest to the pickup location first, expanding outward if needed.
Batch pinging: Multiple drivers can be pinged simultaneously, with the first to accept winning the assignment.
Automatic expansion: If no drivers respond, the search radius increases automatically based on your settings.
Schedule for later: Set Auto Dispatch to trigger at a future time—perfect for pre-scheduling driver assignments.
Real-time visibility: Watch the dispatch process unfold with a live view of which drivers have been pinged and their response status.
Pro Tips
Configure your Auto Dispatch settings before using the feature—default values may not match your market's driver density
For rural areas, consider starting with a larger initial search radius
Use scheduled Auto Dispatch for airport pickups to ensure driver assignment happens at the right time
