How to Add Child Seats to Your Vehicles

Introduction

The Child Seats feature is designed specifically for operators who offer child seats to their customers and for vehicles that can accommodate them. This feature enhances the booking experience by providing customers with the ability to:

  • View photos of the available child seats.

  • Read descriptions of each child seat type.

  • See the price per child seat.

  • Select the quantity needed directly during the booking process.

By using this feature, operators can streamline their operations and reduce the need for customers to call and inquire about child seat availability and pricing. This automated process ensures that prices are adjusted accordingly during booking, providing a seamless experience for both you and your customers.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Accessing the Child Seats Section

    • Navigate to the Vehicles page

    • Create a new vehicle or select the vehicle you want to add child seats to.

    • In the vehicle drawer, go to the "Features" tab.

    • Find the "Child Seats" section located at bottom.

  2. Configuring Child Seats

    • Select Child Seat Types: Choose from Forward-facing seat, Rear-facing seat, and Booster seat by checking the checkbox.

    • Set Quantity: Enter the maximum number of each type of child seat available for the vehicle. This quantity should be the maximum number of seats you can have in this specific vehicle.

    • Set Amount: Enter the price per seat. This can be set to $0 if there's no charge.

    • Add Description: Optionally, add a short description (up to 35 characters) for each seat type. This helps customers understand the type of seat.

    • Upload Photo: Use or replace the default photo for each child seat type. A photo is mandatory.

Customer Portal Experience

  1. Vehicle Selection Page

    • If a vehicle offers child seats, a section for child seats will be displayed on the vehicle so Booking Contacts are aware which vehicles can accomodate child seats and which cannot

  2. Review & Reserve Page

    • When customers select a vehicle that has child seats added, a "Child Seats" section will be displayed.

    • Customers can view the available child seat types, descriptions, photos, and prices.

    • Customers can select the quantity of child seats needed, which will adjust the total price accordingly.

    • If a child seat is selected, it will appear in the trip notes.

Operational Impact

  1. Driver App and Links

    • Child seat details will be shown in the trip notes, ensuring drivers are aware of the requirement.

  2. Dispatch

    • Dispatchers will see child seat information in the trip notes on Dispatch page and Reservations page.

  3. Reports

    • New columns for Child Seat Quantity and Child Seat Amount will be available in reservation and quote reports.
